Vesta Trek is a NASA web-based portal for exploration of Vesta, one of the largest asteroids in the Solar System. This portal showcases data collected by NASA Dawn spacecraft which was launched in 2007 to study Vesta and the dwarf planet Ceres. The spacecraft has recently arrived Ceres.


Vesta Trek features an easy-to-use browsing tool, which provides layering and viewing of high resolution Vesta data products (such as Geology, Mineral Ratio, Iron and Hydrogen concentration, etc) in 2D and Globe view allowing users to fly over the surface of Vesta. It also provides a set of tools including 3D printing, elevation profiles, sun angle calculations, Sun and Earth position.


Dawn's mission is managed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, for NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington. Dawn is a project of the directorate's Discovery Program, managed by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. UCLA is responsible for overall Dawn mission science. Orbital ATK Inc., in Dulles, Virginia, designed and built the spacecraft. The German Aerospace Center, Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, Italian Space Agency and Italian National Astrophysical Institute are international partners on the mission team.
